It's a shower!

I had a lot of fun and we got a lot of great loot for the baby at the shower hosted by my good friends Erin, Elizabeth, and Jenn! Thanks so much for everything!

Mom & Amy and Doug & Joy were able to come down for the weekend. Doug and Brian went fishing while we went to the party.

Outfits, bedding, fish rattles... we're set!

I still have trouble believing I'm actually going to be on the show! It went by so fast when I was taping, so I'm sure I'll even be surprised when I actually see it! It's so exciting and such a great opportunity! At least it will be a good story to tell our daughter, due to arrive in 2 months!

6 lbs in 2 weeks!?!

I hope +1 comes in time for DJ when he’s home on break... I know by April I'll feel even more strongly about that! It's really hard to imagine what my belly is gonna look and feel like with 8 more weeks to go! (By the way... last time she had her major growth spurt; this time it was me - 6 lbs in 2 wks!! Yikes! Appt this morning; all else good.)

After she’s born I assume traveling home will get tougher and tougher, especially once I go back to work. But, for now we plan on coming home the weekends of June 7 and July 19. Brian's cousin is getting married on June 7 and his grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary celebration is July 19, so we plan on coming home for those weekends. Perhaps July 4 as well since that's a long weekend.

We plan on getting a web cam at some point. I know that'd be good for Brian since he for sure won't be able to see her until she's a few months old. Haha - I'm speaking of my brother, Brian, of course!

Off to breastfeeding class tonight... :)

I'm famous!

The Wheel of Fortune publicity has been so much fun! There's gonna be an article in the USC Times (for USC faculty/staff) this Thursday. And the Daily Gamecock (student newspaper) made me front page news! My hometown paper, the Radford News Journal, also did an article.

My mom and sister, Amy, are coming down here to watch the show with us! We have a few friends coming over too.

The baby must be excited too because she’s rolling and punching and jabbing like crazy! So much for the calm baby that we thought we were getting based on her previous (lack of) movement! But I like knowing that things are good in there! My next appt is Thursday so I'll have all the updates about how big she is, etc.

I’m also really excited about my shower this weekend! My good friends, Erin, Elizabath, and Jenn planned it—none of them have kids or are even married so they are being super cute and funny about it. What do you do at a shower? Haha… I don’t really know either! My mom, sister, and Brian’s mom are coming down for it. My mom is planning another shower in Radford for March 8th and Joy is planning one for early afternoon on the 9th. It’ll be in Wytheville at the Red Brick Church since most of Brian’s family is near there and it’ll be easier to not have it at her house. I’m hoping to feel a little more prepared after the showers!
