More HaLLoWeEn Fun

On Halloween, Breeley and I headed to USC to pick up Amy so she could join in our Halloween fun.

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins! We haven't had jack-o-lanterns in several years, but there's a lot of things you do with kids that aren't as fun without them! (Pretty much, Halloween as a whole is one of them.)

Remembering the fun of pumpkin bowling from Thursday, Breeley made her own little game of throw-the-mini-pumpkin, which as you can see, was quite fun for her!

But then she got down to business...

Brian made it a competition and deemed his the winner! Here are the finished products - his is on the left and mine is on the right of the picture. At least he gave me credit for finding cool lights--a strobe light and one that changes colors, two $1 bargains after Halloween last year!

Side note: Notice the bow in Breeley's hair. After months of taking them out as soon as I attempted to put them in, she's now become obsessed with them! She actually brings them to me! (She only has a few and if we're going somewhere and she brings me one that doesn't match her outfit, she can tell if I "fake" putting it in!)

A local church had a Trunk-or-Treat community program, where we were surprised to not only get candy, but also our traditional hot dog dinner. (Since Halloween is not always on a Saturday, we've often had trick-or-treaters as soon as we get home from work on a weekday, so we always made hot dogs as an easy dinner. It's become a tradition.) Breeley loved her first sucker, except for the part where we take it away when it's halfway done to make sure she doesn't choke if it comes off the stick!

Then it was back for some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We only went to 5 houses, but it was slow-going because Breeley had to get in and out of the wagon herself and make sure the wagon door was properly shut before walking up to each door! We also spent some time socializing with the neighbors, so 5 houses took about an hour!

Back at home with a full bucket from 3 days of Halloween festivities! (Brian and I have already put a dent on the stuff she can't eat... and a few things she could, but... it's our Mommy/Daddy tax!)

The last picture may be the only one with her actual costume headpiece. I substituted the headband and bow because it stayed on better. I mentioned before that she got the hang of this trick-or-treating thing, with the first step being to put on a cute costume. Well, she's already brought us her wings and headband twice today and motioned that she wanted them on!

Halloween was a lot of fun this year! Breeley was a cute little bee and she walked away with a sweet tooth and a new animal sound, at least if you count "bssssssss" as the new "buzzzzz."

Love the bee costume. It looks like you had a great time with all the Halloween festivities! Ohh and your pumpkin is much better than Brian's!
